About the team
For the Improvement Team we are looking for a Business Consultant. The improvement team has several fields of expertise; Strategic Improvements, Change Management, Lean and Business Process Management. The Business Consultant will focus on end-to-end transformation of our primary business from a product lifecycle and configuration management perspective, and will work together with the business architects within the Business Process Management practice. Currently there are 2 Business Architects active, but because of our long term improvements we are looking for strengthening of this capability for our organization with a specific specialization in PLM
About your future job
As a Business Consultant you will be responsible for improving our business processes, processes thinking & overall coherence based on an end-to-end focus. The BC will be working on the edge between business and IT, helps & challenges process owners to build an aligned process landscape and is the linking pin between the Business and the IT department to line-up applications supporting our primary processes. The BC will challenge our current way of working, is in the lead for improvements on transversal topics and develops, together with other process actors, a long term roadmap on organization improvements. As a business consultant you will lead our business process management activities, help to improve our business model and you will be in close contact with our Enterprise Architect on IT side. The BC is the spider in the web regarding end-to-end topics and will be the sparring partner for subject matter experts, process owners and product owners. You will lead change and play an important role for us in becoming more excellent in our operations.
The main tasks are:
- Improve our business processes and process chains, PLM & CM capabilities, and build a coherent framework to serve as a basis for executing transformation programs. Make sure that the process chains, work instructions, application and data is aligned well to enable our running projects and facilitate quality, cost & delivery aspects.
- Build and animate communities, ensure a better collaboration between our disciplines within both business and IT area’s, Key-users, SME’s, Business teams, and improve the interfacing / connection between processes within the end-to-end chain, Learn from each other and from external parties (benchmarking, visits, etc)
- Engage in stakeholder management on role clarity, budget, priority, and actions plans – Make sure responsibilities are clear, create connection and alignment between process owners, and budget owners and other business & IT stakeholders
- Be sparring partner for Process owners (CPO), our Enterprise Information Management department and the architects
- Be the go-to resources who helps CPO’s, Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) and projects to resolve cross-functional and/or complex issues, from business and IT perspective, on a TNL level
- Be a key stakeholder in listing & prioritizing business improvement initiatives, based on objectives, scope & overall business goals, support in creating a long term business change roadmap, owned by the architect, align with application roadmap (owned by IS/IT) and prepare change proposals for the BPA steerco, responsible for the overall Roadmap
- Direct project change activities focusing on sustainable deployment & structural change
- Maintain overall consistency of country and site main business improvements and IT related initiatives and align with all relevant improvement initiatives to mitigate overlapping activities.
- Collaborate with the quality & improvement department on bringing structural change, based on bottom up / top down initiatives and/or quality findings, in order to improve overall company performance, where process is leading and initiatives intended to solve bottlenecks
- Facilitate process training and training planning from competence & knowledge development point of view – determine together with the line & HR who needs which knowledge and make sure that this training is actually organized in terms of training plans and training instances
- Succeed in building a solid base, house in order, continuous improvement of processes, alignment between data, application and disciplines & solve the main challenges within our organization. Eventually this will be measured in terms of improvements on quality, cost & delivery KPI’s across the chain.
Why you'd be a good match
- A relevant MSc degree in Technology or Business Administration
- Professional experience in the field of Business Process Management, Business Consultancy or Enterprise architecture
- Understanding of our business and the field of Business Applications, especially PLM, CM & Windchill
- You have a clear vision on Business Models, IT and Business Process Management
- Profound interest in improvement, quality and processes
- Strong personality capable of influencing without power
- An analytical thinker with an open and curious mind and excellent communication and writing skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic, complex and multi-national environment wherein you manage/influence various stakeholders, challenge the status quo and solve problem.
